Tax software helps you file.
MaxMyRefund finds what it missed.
TurboTax, Wealthsimple Tax, and H&R Block are excellent tools for filing your return. But they can only work with what you tell them. MaxMyRefund reads your completed return and finds the deductions and credits that never made it in.
Why a correct return isn't always a complete one
Tax filing software calculates accurately — based on what you enter. It does not know about the therapy sessions you forgot to add, the moving expenses from when you changed jobs, or the Canada Training Credit that has been quietly accumulating in your CRA account since 2020.
This is not a flaw in the software. It is a structural reality: any tool that relies on you to know what to input will only be as complete as your memory. The average Canadian leaves $2,900 on the table every year — not because they filed incorrectly, but because nobody reviewed their return against the full picture of what they were entitled to.
MaxMyRefund fills that gap. File with whatever tool you prefer. Then upload the PDF and let us check it.
What each tool is built to do

Common questions
Do I have to stop using TurboTax or Wealthsimple?
No. MaxMyRefund is not a filing tool — it is a review tool. Keep using whatever software you prefer to file. MaxMyRefund is the step that comes after.
Can I use this if I already submitted my return?
Yes — that is exactly when it is most useful. Upload your completed return and we will identify anything that was missed. If we find something, we provide amendment instructions so you can recover the refund.
What if my return was done by an accountant?
Accountants do excellent work, but they also rely on what their clients tell them. An independent review is always worth doing — especially if you have had any major life changes (new job, moved, had children, started investing) that may have introduced new deductions.
How far back can I go?
The CRA allows T1 adjustments for the 10 most recent tax years. If you have been consistently missing a particular deduction, a decade of amendments could be worth tens of thousands of dollars.
What does it cost?
There is no upfront cost. On the performance plan, you pay 20% of whatever savings we find — nothing if we find nothing. A full report is also available for a flat $10, and the 10-year deep dive is $50.
